Living Room Design Boards

As we creep closer and closer to having actual... walls... it's time to *actually* start designing. I've been saving inspiration and pins for over a year now, and while I have a general feel I am going for with this house I haven't locked down many specifics. And honestly - I'm a little afraid to! We've been talking about/dreaming about/planning this house for so long it almost seems surreal to choose paint colors - as silly as that sounds.

So this brings me to the living room! We have a few *for sure* pieces for this space, but there is still so much up in the air.

Things I know for sure:

• I will be creating a mantle + builtins around the existing fireplace, and really want this to be a bold color.

• We have two leather wingback chairs that were my grandmother's. They are currently navy blue, but I plan on *eventually* having them reupholstered in a brown or cognac leather.

• Sean wants a massive sectional! And it's been a bit of a challenge to find one that is not only big but looks good, is comfortable and isn't 40 million dollars. My solution is to buy this sectional from Bob's Discount Furniture and make my own slipcover. I love this idea for many reasons, but mostly because it will be washable (our dogs rule this house🙄) and I can have tons of flexibility on color and fabric.

• We have an old, metal, black (could be painted) flat file I want to use as our coffee table.

These design boards are very, *very* preliminary, but it's nice to start to get some ideas out on paper. And I think it will be fun to look back and see how the ideas evolve over the next year!
